Three deaths, a bad week.

Last night as I was watching the news, I learned that Ed McMahon had died, and that Farah Fawcett is hopeful that when she gets better she and Ryan Oneal will finally tie the knots. But as of this morning, news broke out that Farah had died after years of battling cancer.

But another news shocked me - it seems official enough to confirm, Michael Jackson had passed away, at the age of 50. This is very sad. He was a talented man, a legend. My heart feels sad. This is not the time for mean jokes. These people had been part of my growing up years.

Ed Mcmahon, Farah Fawcett, Michael jackson, this isn't a good week. My heart goes out to their families.

Enough said. I want to mourn in peace....

Tracey, Mimi,
MJ i think has been living in an very difficult and often self-destructive journey for years. yes, he has unquestionable talent, but so too was his discomfort with the norms of the world. I bet he simply cannot withstand this level of prolonged stress...
he had been living a sad life despite the fame and money.
may he rest in peace!

Ed was very famous as a Second Banana ( I am quoting Ed here it is his own description of himself ) but he was an excellent narrator and from what I have read. A charity event could not do better then get Ed as Master of Ceremonies somehow he must have inspired trust.

I was not a big Charlies fan. In fact the only quote I can think of about them was during a royal visit they posed for a photo with Prince Charles and he quipped "Now you know why they call them Charlie's Angels. ( did that hit the headlines in the UK Tracey?) Farrah only was on the one season I was teaching in the mountains or on exercise all the time so never saw any episodes till reruns.

Mike is probably always the poster child for someone growing up with talent in an extremely disfunctional family. I have never been able to fully form an opinion about him except I like his work. In a way he reminds me of Oscar Wilde. Love the work while the lifestyle disgusts me.

In Micheal's case though was that lifestyle the real man or the manifestation of a pathological upbringing. I do think he tried to be as good a person as he could be. Some can never escape their past

very well said Sid. the world mourn the demise of these icons. we may not know these people personally, but somehow thay have become part of our growing up years. just listening to their songs, and seeing their previous posters can bring back pleasant memories of the past.
hope you are feeling better today.
