A birthday poem for Sid.

I have not forgotten your birthday
I just want you to know
You have been stuck at fifty now
For six years in a row.
Your hair's a little thinner
And you have put on some girth
Just want to remind you of another year
Since the moment of your birth

Sure you could spend ten thousand dollars
For a few more years of zen
Or be a full-fledged member of
Some hair club just for men.
You could sign up for a spin class
And hoist around some weights
Know what? For some old fart
You do look really great!

So tell us what you want
Or what you expect this year?
Would a Corvette wrapped in ribbon
Bring you lots of cheer?
Or a cake with many candles
And a wallet or some shoes
Friends that come gather round
To dance and sing the blues?

Come lets blow out the candles
And dim down the light
Start another chapter
A future without fright.
So hold my hand and start the music
I want to learn that dance
A boogie and a tango
I can't pass up this chance.

Happy Birthday, Sid!
