Don't change just because...

Just a short note in reaction to Kirst’s post , and how she had to explain herself to someone who left a comment in her blog. You see, what I love about reading blogs aside from gaining friends in the process, is the diversity of ideas and opinions.

We are all different. It is that simple... each and every one of us is different. We have always been different, we will always be different. But in our little blog community, we have come to accept the differences with patience, tolerance and understanding.

I strongly believe that our diversity is the very reason that we exist as individuals. We exist to be different. We move in different society, encounter different situations that may need a different approach, etc. I have come to accept this fact. As within this diversity, with all of our individual opinions, and with all of our individual needs, there is a common center that we all share, regardless of nationality, or race or religion... and that is, love.

By sharing with me your life, your fears, your aspirations through your blogs we are able to rise above all our differences and distinctions with our understanding, patience and love. It is through reading your posts that I get to know about your life, your joys, and sufferings. I see a new world through your eyes.

No one is right or wrong here, we are just different, and I, for one, enjoy learning a new point of view from all of you.

So to all of you my blog mates, particularly Kirst: Don't change just because someone has a difference of opinion, ok?

I agree. Amy is the same, she will write a long meaningful post then delete it, she also has been talking about deleting her blog! Blogging is first & foremost for fun, Let people think what they bloody well want to!

I agree with you, I think your posts are very thougthful! Its important that change within happens through deep thought and reflection and not through reaction to others. However, I do see how sometimes social media can be a bit flowery, without the real aspect that true friends give you. Real friends are honest and sometimes critical when it is needed, even when it hurts, they help us grow and change when we need to. I see how bothered people get in social media when someone doesn't agree, or really has the guts to say what they feel. I guess my opinion is that social media can be a great support to people, but it is not a replacement for real interaction. Sometimes I wonder do people really mean this or not with the internet. Its sort of wierd. Well, I think your post actually got me thinking about how the internet brings people together but it also limits us too. Hmm. Lots to think about. I enjoy reading your thoughtful posts, hope you and your family are safe from all the crazy stuff happening there right now.

Well said... if people don't like what you write, there are others who will, and there are other blogs they can go and read...

I guess we all write about things that we are experiencing - good and bad, banal and trivial... it all goes in the mix, and sometimes we want a wee rant. All good...
Nasty comments do hurt though - they feel like an intrusion... but there will always be people who disagree, or don't understand. It doesn't mean you should alter what you write to suit them! And as far as I can see, it provides a reason to write more on the topic!
The only thing i try not to do is upset the people I know, in daily life, work or blogland, by knowingly writing something that will upset them when they read it - for that I would need an anonymous blog that no one I knew read and tell no one about it - and one day the whole thing would be outed and come back to haunt me for ever - too high a price!!!

Tracey - Please don't let Amy delete her blog!!!

Thankyou Odette,Wow I was suprised to see this!!! beautifully written also :)
Blogs are a way to express as you guys have said. Sometimes the social niceitys of society prevent us through fear of disapproval for really saying what we want to say.

People can become so introspective through these pressures that no wonder there is so much depression and disease.
